The castle of Mimi, which has been restored in modern day, has become a peculiar emblem of the modern take-off of Moldovan winemaking, as well as an indispensable tourist attraction. And what about the wines? Only good news: Mimi’s current line of wines deservedly claims leadership in the budget and medium-price segments. Worthy varietal white wines, excellent Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Roṣu de Bulboaca (already a favorite of connoisseurs), not to mention the monovarietal Malbec – a rarity for the Moldovan market – all of these have become a real discovery of 2018.
