Mezalimpe
The territory where the “Mezalimpe” vineyard is situated used to be owned by Baron Dombrov, who would make wine famous throughout all of Moldova for its aroma.
Mezalimpe winery has been growing grapes and making wine since 2003. The company’s name comes from the shortened names of a few Moldovan grape varieties. The company grows Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. The vineyard of 10 ha was planted in 2004, and in 2006 the company’s owner Anatoly Iurko opened a small winery only 1 km away. The winery has the latest technology and is equipped to process 100 tons of grapes. Wine fermentation takes place on spontaneous microflora.
A distinctive feature of these wines is that their amount is extremely limited. Each type of wine only has a couple hundred to a couple thousand bottles produced each year. Mezalimpe was represented at an international convention for the first time in 2009, and they were judged for their quality.
