ChocoWine + Cheese
Invino enoteca continues to destroy stereotypes and receive gastronomic satisfaction from odd pairings.
Chocolatier Nadejda Vishnevskaya-Ipatyeva agreed to support Invino's experiment: chocolate + cheese + wine; and presented exclusive hand made cheese-chocolates.
Yet another discovery made was a new wine, made by a not-yet-famous Moldovan winery Doina Vin, from the "6n" series. The wine was presented by sales manager Doina Borsh.
What was tasted:
#1 - "6n" Riesling, 2016 from DoinaVin and a chocolate made from white Belgian chocolate, in which a piece of 2 year-aged hard Lithuanian cheese was hidden (Dziugas), also called Parmesan
#2 - "6n" Merlot, 2016 from DoinaVin and an extra dark chocolate with blue cheese, cream, white chocolate and coffee.
#3 - Merlot, 2016 from F'autor and a candy that contained layers of cheese with linden honey in between.
#4 - K Heres Armonios, 1994 from Vinuri Ialoveni with a salty pair: "Flying Dragon" candy - dark chocolate with melted cheese, Himalayan pink salt, black pepper, ginger and lemongrass.
#5 - Grappa and a chocolate candy in which there were grated Parmesan, spices, Martini Russo and sun dried tomato.
The majority of votes went to the first pair.
