Feteasca Neagră Contest Fall 2016
Inna Shangina and Mihai Druta led a captivating blind tasting of 6 wines from different harvest years of the Feteasca Neagra variety.
Six wines of different harvest years, that were served in slipcovers with numbers - and participants graded them with the help of tasting sheets. Afterwards, the grades were calculated and the winner was announced. The difference among the grades was so small that one can conclude - all the wines were about the same level of quality, however...
"Feteasca Neagra - a reminder of femininity hides in the name itself," mentioned Mihai Druta. "The wine doesn't harbor much astringency or instense aromas. It has a girl-like character, however that's the delight in such a wine; seeing as it gives the winemaker a vast opening for artistic creativity. This is a very gasrtonomic wine. It's quite easy to find a gastronomic pairing, meaning it doesn't make way for creativity only for winemakers, but for chefs as well."
Wines tasted include:
№1 — Feteasca neagră, 2014 (Vinaria din Vale)
№2 – Rădăcini Fiori Feteasca neagră, 2015 (Albastrele wines)
№3 – Individo Feteasca neagră, 2014 (Chateau Vartely)
