The color of white wine
Most European white wines retain a yellow-green, straw or golden-green color in their youth. Over time the color of white wines intensifies, gaining a more golden or darker hue. When wine gains a dark-golden hue, it’s likely that it’s too late to drink the wine.
The color of a white wine can speak of its acidity. The closer it is to shades of green, the more acidic it is. Conversely, the more golden a color is – the less acidic is the wine and the more delicate are its aromas.
