Can wine be categorized by male and female?

If one has a taste and understanding of wine, as a rule, one knows his or her own varietal preferences. No differences among genders exist within this realm. At times, it may seem that men choose to drink darker, more full-bodied wines, however plenty of women choose the same. Perhaps women seem to enjoy a glass of sparkling more often than men. Yet, if one is truly dedicated to the wine world then his or her gender or age make no difference when it comes to taste.
